Welcome!

I've set up this blog so that all my friends, relations and colleagues in the world of writing can keep up to speed with what I'm doing - from now on, I'll never have to say sorry for not keeping in touch.

Or anyway, that's the plan.

So do please link up with me on Facebook and Twitter - https://www.facebook.com/margaret.james.5268 and https://twitter.com/majanovelist

You can find my novels as digital downloads on Apple iTunes, Kobo, Kindle and Nook, and most are available as print paperbacks, too.

Festival of Romance

Festival of Romance - that sounds glamorous and exciting, doesn't it? Well, I'm excited because so many of my friends are in the shortlists for awards this year, and I'm hoping they'll all win.

I've got my party frock all ready and my dancing shoes polished up.

Here are the people and books on the shortlists - lots of familiar names there, all of them brilliant writers, so I'm glad I'm not the one who's going to have to make any final decisions on Friday 16th November!

  3. I do hope you will be at the Festival of Romance, Margaret as I would really like to meet you. I have read several of your books, which I've really enjoyed, and have been lucky enough to make a real facebook friend of Linda Mitchelmore. She has been so supportive of my own writing and is a real pleasure to 'talk to.' Here's to Choc Lit and all your friends who have been shortlisted.

  4. Jane, you took the words right out of my mouth - filthy habit :-). Guernsey Girl, I hope to meet you - come and say hello if you find me first! Christina, I have some shoes I can walk in, anyway...

  5. I hope that your party frock is beautiful and you have a wonderful time at the Festival of Romance!

I wonder if you could help me? Gwen Kirkwood has invited me to take part in a blog event entitled THE NEXT BIG THING - a series of questions and answers about what’s happening next in my writing life. All you need is a blog and something you are working on to write about, so mine is scheduled for Tuesday 20th November.
To promote this, I have to ask five others if they would like to take part to answer and some questions on their next big thing they are working on, scheduled for Tuesday 27th, so I wondered if you would be interested?
Freda Lightfoot did it last week and you can find her answers on her blog.
Please let me know if you would like to take part and I can send you the questions and what to do.
    Best Wishes,
    Jean

  6. Thank you for your good wishes for the Festival of Romance, Jean! I've already been involved in The Next Big Thing - see my post of 26 September - so I don't feel I can do this again. But good luck with your post. Margaret X

  7. I had a lovely time at the festival or romance writers despite being totally disorganised as we are in the throes of moving.
It was interesting -informative and fun -and I was so thrilled to be on the short list with Mysterious Master by Isabella Rose.
I pitched a book to an editor and another to a panel on sunday morning -at the book fair actors dressed in regency costume gave a short vingette ending with a romantic kiss -to much applause.
It was a wonderful event and I hope a publisher will take on the book which at the moment is ebook only. I have made Devil Doctor paperback with feedaread.com and hope in time for xmas trade.
